The Power of Intention

I was recently invited to speak at a local wellness fair. I felt excited and prepared—ready to share a heartfelt teaching on the power of intention.

My plan was to guide others through how to set an intention with clarity, how to align with it fully, and how living with intention can truly transform the way we move through life.

But when I arrived, I discovered that the event was designed for children (oh crap... time to pivot). The energy was beautiful—full of playfulness and light—but it became clear that the structure I had created would serve best in another way.

So I’m offering this teaching here, as a gift to you.

I first discovered the power of intention during my training as a Life Coach, while studying mindset work. It struck me that our thoughts don’t just pass through us—they create the environment we live in. The energy we align with influences what we see, how we feel, and what we create. Intention became more than a mindset tool. With the assistance from my guides, it became a spiritual anchor.

Because intention is more than a step in a spiritual practice.

It is a way of being.

A way of choosing your path moment by moment, breath by breath.

Intention Is the Energy You Choose to Live From

Intention is more than a sentence you speak or write down at the beginning of a new day, a new month, or a new moon.

It is the frequency you decide to carry.

It is a sacred declaration of your inner alignment—an agreement you make with your soul.

An intention holds the energy of truth. It expresses what you desire to embody, experience, and radiate. It’s your way of saying, “This is the energy I choose to live in. This is how I will walk forward, regardless of what unfolds around me.”

This is different from a goal. A goal is something you work toward—often shaped by conditions or future outcomes.

While a goal looks to the future, an intention anchors you in the present. It becomes the energy you move from.

An intention invites you to live as if the energy you desire is already yours—because it is.

When you speak an intention from the heart, you are calling yourself into deeper coherence with your divine self.

Living Intentionally Creates a Shift at Every Level

When you live with intention, your inner and outer worlds begin to respond in a new way.

Your body softens.

Your nervous system begins to regulate.

Your energy starts to harmonize.

Your mind becomes clearer.

And your heart opens to higher guidance.

When you move through life without conscious intention, it becomes easy to absorb the energies of others, to react from old patterns, or to feel disconnected from your deeper truth. In those moments, your energy is being shaped by what’s happening around you instead of being led by the wisdom within.

When you live with intention, you reclaim your authority. You become the one shaping your vibration, your choices, and your alignment.

This shift grows through presence.

What Happens When You Set an Intention

Working with intention becomes a spiritual technology. It creates a bridge between your physical experience and your divine self. Every time you set an intention, you:

  • Choose alignment over chaos.

  • Call in divine support.

  • Activate your energetic field to support your desires.

  • Remember that you are always creating—through thought, through feeling, through choice.

When you begin your day by choosing your frequency, you awaken your power as a creator. Intention brings you into harmony with the energy you wish to live in—whether that’s peace, truth, clarity, compassion, trust, or joy.

You allow those energies to rise through your intention.

How to Create a Powerful Intention

When creating an intention, the language you use matters. Intention speaks the language of energy, and your words carry frequency.

Here are a few key things to remember:

  1. Use Present Tense: Speak as if it is already true. Say, "I am at peace" instead of "I want to be at peace."

  2. Be Clear and Positive: Focus on what you are choosing, not what you are avoiding. Instead of saying, "I don’t want to be anxious," shift it to "I choose to feel grounded and calm."

  3. Let It Resonate: A true intention will feel peaceful in your body. It will create an inner yes.

  4. Keep It Soul-Led: Let your intention reflect the energy of your highest self, not just what your mind thinks you need.

Examples:

  • I am rooted in peace.

  • I choose presence and clarity.

  • I welcome divine guidance with every breath.

  • I am fully supported and deeply connected.

Your intention becomes the frequency you embody. It is your chosen alignment.

A Guided Practice to Work With Intention

You can return to this practice anytime you want to reset, realign, or begin anew. You can do this in the morning, before a conversation, before creating something sacred, or whenever you feel disconnected.

Step One: Enter the Present Moment

Close your eyes. Breathe deeply.Let your breath become your guide into presence.Feel the weight of your body.Let your awareness gather into your heart.

Step Two: Connect With Your Soul’s Truth

Place a hand over your chest and ask:

  • What do I choose to align with today?

  • What energy is needed in this moment?

  • How do I desire to feel and move through this experience?

Wait for the answer. Let it rise naturally. There is spaciousness here. Trust the quiet voice of your soul.

Step Three: Speak or Write Your Intention

Let the words form clearly.

Here are some examples:

  • I align with trust and open-hearted awareness.

  • I choose to feel grounded and connected.

  • I welcome divine guidance in all I do.

  • I embody clarity, truth, and divine confidence.

Your intention may be short or detailed. What matters is the resonance. Let it feel true in your body.

Step Four: Anchor It in Light

Visualize a soft golden light glowing in your heart.

Let this light expand, carrying the vibration of your intention through your body, your energy field, and your mind.Let your breath carry that intention into every cell.

Feel yourself becoming it. You are no longer waiting. You are already living from it.

Step Five: Integrate and Live It

Throughout your day, return to your intention.

Speak it aloud when needed.Write it down.

Breathe it back into your heart whenever you feel disconnected.

Each time you choose to remember your intention, you strengthen your alignment. You step further into the version of you who already lives from that truth.

This Is Your Power

You are always within reach of alignment. You are always held by Source. You are always able to choose.

Working with intention brings you back to your own center. It aligns your energy with your soul’s wisdom. And it opens you to receive the clarity, support, and miracles that are already available to you.

May this teaching guide you. May it remind you.

And may it serve as a soft and steady return to the deepest truth of who you are.

With love and intention,

Shea
